Yunfeng Lu obtained his PhD from professor C. Jeff Brinker and Professor Gabriel P. Lopez at the University of New Mexico in 1998 and became a Sandia postdoc. In 2000, he worked at Applied Materials Inc. as a senior process engineer. He joined Tulane University as an assistant professor in 2001, promoted to endowed professor with tenure in 2005,and moved to UCLA in 2006.
